I'm trying to set up Homegroup/Windows Media Player for DLNA streaming.

The DLNA server itself is showing up on my smart TV, but the contents of windows media player are not there.

How do I get this working?

I'm actually a bit new to DLNA and have made an attempt at setting it up with my blu-ray player. I found a lot of issues when trying to play videos; your media device (in your case the TV) must support the media type that you're trying to play.

For example: My blu-rayer player supports few video formats, once I converted some video files they showed up perfectly.

I would imagine your TV supports more formats than my blu-ray player. However, in Windows Media Player click "Stream" near the top then click on "Turn on media streaming." Your TV should then appear in the menu there. Once I did that I also was able to view more.
