Suddenly, the taskbar on windows XP is gone. Plus, many of the websites I used to get now say "Your connection is not private" and references both ERR_CERT_INVALID and www-secure.symantec.com. I have the most current Norton's, but just installed it today, and I still can't get a taskbar or certain websites I used to visit all the time. HELP!!!!!

Solution
Uninstall Norton then see how your PC works. If it works okay after that, Norton is most likely not the best choice for you with that particular system so choose something else less demanding on system resources. Norton is best suited to modern systems with a minimum of 4 GB RAM installed.

Try Comodo instead, it's got the lowest RAM usage of any online security software: http://www.comodo.com
