I need 8GB of DDR3 RAM. I am stuck in between these two:

8GB G.Skill Ripjaws X $80

8GB Crucial Ballistix Sport $80

More about : ram buy

It really doesn't matter, their specs are identical. I personally prefer G.Skill but that's subjective.

Go with whichever one you like most for whatever reason you can think of, performance won't be impacted by it at all.

EDIT: Except that the Crucial seems to be lower profile. If you have issues with RAM clearance due to a big cooling unit, go with the Crucial.

I'd go GSkill over Crucial anyday!

Then clearance isn't an issue. Go with the G.Skill, everyone (myself included) seems to prefer it over Crucial.

I've never had a problem with either company, and i have owned multiple sets of both.

Both will work, though across the board on the models GSkill has stronger sticks and OC headroom

I would absolutely recommend G. Skill alone just based on their customer support. They have fantastic support and their memory comes with lifetime warranty which you can definitely not beat. I have had a couple sticks come DOA before and they promptly took care of me. The Ripjaws X series is a beast of a set. I have basically have the set in one of my rigs that you listed, but in blue.

You should also be able to OC them to a bit higher frequency if you wish (1866). My 1600 set went to 1866 with absolutely no problems and with the timings that comes with their stock rated 1866 kit.
