Hey just "upgraded" to an R9 270 and am now getting lower fps on the same settings in most of my games. I'm not sure what exactly is causing this. I have checked to make sure that I have the most up to date drivers. Any info on what could potentially be causing this would be nice because right now I'm feeling really crappy about the money I spent on the card.

More about : 270 low fps game

What did you upgrade from?
Your pc specs?
What games you testing? What fps did you get? At what settings?

Reinstall drivers. Make sure these are no bottleneck between the cpu and the gpu. Basically saying if you have old cpu(or cheap/more expensive) you will lose out on performance in ether cpu or gpu. Price often dictates this. as well, make sure your "upgrade" wasn't really a "downgrade"

I upgraded from a XFX AMD Radeon HD 6870 1GB. I have an AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor, ASUS R9 270 Series GPU, and 8GB of Ram. I've tried many games (Minecraft, Battlefield, CS:GO and others) and get 20-50 fps on medium settings.

I've tried re-installing the drivers and haven't had any change in fps.

I would say your CPU is the limiting factor. Especially for Battlefield, your cpu will struggle in large multiplayer servers.

Really? I didnt think AMD Phenom II X4 955 was that bad. Especially for some of the games I get low fps on. Also, the low fps problem existed in single player aswell. For clarification it was Battlefield 3.
