Hi guys about 3 months ago my Powersupply blew when somebody flicked the power switch off while my computer was on.. ):

nothing else seemed to be to damaged i had to take out my HD 5870 and put in my gt 620 i had laying around and a 300 watt psu that came with it

Now recently my computer stopped booting im not sure if its the Ram or the CPU
iv left one stick of ram in iv put both in my final analyse was its the cpu i checked the beep code error it said it was either ram or The cpu so im on the right track.. i hope

everytime i turn on i get a 5 beep code error and it its a infinite loop My pc is a HP-P2303A stock standard ATM.

im just wondering is it worth the time trying to revive it? and if it is the CPU what steps can i take to check it

also im worried after the psu died wouldn't other parts of my computer be damaged to?

From what I've read, this could mean 2 things.
1. Your CPU is fried (unlikely)
2. Your motherboard shorted
If the CPU is dead, you need to buy another. It shouldn't be to hard to replace. Just flip open the CPU holder, take out the old one, and replace it with the new one. NEVER TOUCH THE GOLDEN PINS ON YOUR NEW CPU! This will break it.
If your motherboard shorted, you just need to replace that, but that's a pain.
You can also try getting a new PSU. 300 watts doesn't seem to be enough.
