I am using the ASRock Z97 Anniversary motherboard, do I need a sound card or wireless adapter? I am using Verizon Wireless.

No, you don't need a sound card as it has on-board audio.
If you connect your PC to the modem/router via an Ethernet cable, then no, you do not need a wireless adapter.

If you need your PC to connect to the Internet wirelessly, then yes, you need a wireless adapter.

Verizon wireless what? Do you have a router, with ethernet ports on the back? Can you connect to one of those ports?

If not, then you will probably need a WiFi adapter.
