i was playing AC 4 (Black Flag) and messing with graphic options

with FXAA i get 50-62 FPS
with 2x Msaa it drops to 45-53
and reach 30-35 with the 8x

does the AA worth the FPS drop or i won't notice it ?
what's the AA of Ps4 and X1 games ( is there something like AA standard in console or it vary with games ) ?

does the FPS have to be constant i notice fps in game go from 60 to 52 and from there to 60 again and so on

is FPS in console game not vary or is that normal ?

thx all for your answers :)

The framerates of PS4 and X1 games both vary. The developers try to minimize it, but it still happens. Usually it's not as severe as PCs though.

Consoles usually don't use MSAA anyway; most use FXAA or MLAA, and the ones that use MSAA only usually use 2x. There are a couple that use 4xMSAA, but those aren't very demanding games.

Additionally, the X1 runs most games at 720p or 900p, not 1080p.
The PS4 runs the most stressful games at 900p, not 1080p.
Both consoles cap several games at 30 fps, rather than 60 fps.
