Is it POSSIBLE, yes. Is it likely NO. Here is a thread specifically on how horsehair generates less ESD than nylon. Unless you live in Las Vegas (or equivalent) and the humidity in you house is less than 20% I don't believe you have ANYTHING to worry about.

Static shock usually is caused by your body not a brush but rubbing plastic can do the same. The real question is will it damage your GPU. I would say probably not. The casing of your GPU is grounded through the PCIEe plug and would protect the components inside. Its handling bare components like RAM that you should worry about.

I ready the original post and I did not know hoarse hair could start static. I know plastics are known to make static. Maybe you should stick with caned air like the rest of us do.

As far as any damage you may have done I would not worry too much about it because as I said once installed it is usually grounded. Its the process of installing like carrying bare RAM in you hands as you walk across a shag rug and then trying to install them without touching the case first that will get you in trouble because the static will travel through your hand and the component to the case and zap.

Good post "kanewolf". I stand corrected.
