My computer has never been able to connect to servers

Okay, so I had this problem with this computer ever since I got it. The internet works just fine, perfect in fact. I recently moved, but this computer had the same problem even on my old router, meaning the router is not the problem here.

My other computers don't have this issue either. Now, to stop keeping you in suspense, let me tell you the problem:

My computer can't connect to servers for some reason. Let me explain. It can load a web page just fine. But whenever I try to like for example update Google Chrome, it says could not connect to server. I try to update iTunes, could not connect to server. Skype won't open because it can't connect to a server. If I try to get Photoshop, it can't connect to the server to download Photoshop.

Why is this? I have no antivirus that I know of. I also have a great internet connection, and don't even think that's the problem because it's been like this on all the routers I've been to, all my friend's houses I've been to.

Please help me out, as this problem makes it so I can't do much.

Regards,
Ryan

Sounds like a firewall problem that is not allowing you to establish a connection. Try disabling your Windows Firewall under the control panel and do an update to verify.

P.S. don't leave your firewall disabled just do it for testing.

Tried that before anything. It's been disabled for as long as I can remember.

You may have a virus then. Try running Malwarebytes...

https://www.malwarebytes.org/mwb-download/

and turn your firewall back on. It does protect you a little even though your routers firewall is the main point of protection.

Eh, no I don't. It has been like this since Day 1, when I got this new computer from Lenovo website, and I run scans daily to weekly. 0 viruses.

Have you checked your C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file? Right click on hosts and open with notepad.

Maybe you have something in the file that is preventing your computer from accessing the servers.

Note the # sign are comments.
