What can I expect by upgrading my PSU? Should I?

Ok so I'll keep this pretty short, I have a Rosewill BRONZE Series RBR1000-M 1000W that I planned on installing in my new build tomorrow when my last part arrives, but I was told that my power supply is low quality and that I should upgrade it since the rest of my system is high end.

My current specs are:
Intel 4790k CPU w/ Noctua dh14 cooler
MSI Z97 MPOWER MAX AC Motherboard
Thermaltake Level 10 GT Snow Edition Case
16gb Hyperx Fury 1833 RAM
500gb mixed Samsung SSDs (evo and pro)
2tb WD Eco Drive
Powercooler R9 280 GPU (to hold me off until I feel like upgrading to next years premium cards, or the 295x2 somewhere down the line)

What kind of impact would say an Evga supernova have over my current PSU?

Thanks in advance. This is my first build since high school and I'm a bit confused on the different qualities of PSUs and what the main differences are aside from how modular they are.

I personally have not had much luck with Roswells. Some people love them but the few times I have messed with them (which is like once) it burt out.

As for the advantages. You can get cleaner DC on some power supplies than others and if it is good build using Japanees Capacitors then the PSU will be less likely to burn out and last longer.

That's a really good question.

In general, "bad" PSUs are those that can't deliver the rated power cleanly, with minimal voltage fluctuations and don't have overcapacity protections. They don't last long and degrade. When under load they may overheat and in some (rare) instances they may catch fire.

Sp, looking at things objectively.- you are unlikely to place a high demand on your PSU - I don't think you're near 50% of rated capacity. That removes some of the issues. It clearly leaves others, including issues of "dirty" or unstable power to components.

If it was me, I wouldn't buy that PSU, but if I had it, I'd feel comfortable running with it, while keeping the occasional eye on voltages and the general condition of the PSU. When I upgrade my video card or make other substantial changes to my configuration, I might upgrade - or I might wait and see how and if it degrades.

Looking forward to hearing opinions from other parties. here. :)

That's actually what I was planning on doing for now, I got this on clearance at a great price so returning it really isn't an option, I guess I could sell it and then buy another higher end one but would the gains really be worth it?

I'll probably use it until there's a sale on some of the top tier PSUs when I'm upgrading some other components down the line (probably gona upgrade my RAM and GPU in 6-12 months, I'll likely upgrade my PSU at that time as well)

I'll probably drop down to 850 watts and SLI 2 GTX 970s or something. So many directions I could take after the newer chipsets come out and prices drop down the line.
