Installing windows 8.1 on MBR partition

So basically i made a new rig and used my old hdd which is MBR partiotioned. I have Asus z97 -A UEFI enabled. I had my windows 8.1 iso file on a USB (BOOTED from a USB flash drive) . After booting from the USB, i formatted all my partitions through the windows installer except reserved partition and when i selected a partition to install windows on an error occoured saying Windows can not be installed on MBR partition. GPT must be used..Question is what should i do now as my hdd is formatted..

I would suggest that you only have the SSD installed (HDD unplugged), boot from the USB and install - let Windows determine partitions and formats. When you finish the install and updates, plug your HDD in and partition/format the HDD in the way you want.....I would also move the data files (videos, pictures, music and documents) to the HDD.....
