Unable to boot windows. gets to splash screen (with swirling orbs), then freeze, brief .5 sec blue screen, then restart.
System reserve listed as C:\
Hard disk labled as D:\.
Windows installed with another motherboard installed at the time.

Any ideas?

If you swapped motherboards, it's likely you need to reinstall Windows 7. The old install has drivers and registry settings that are looking for the old hardware (motherboard). While a repair may work, your best bet would be to install fresh.

Running Windows repair gives the message that it cannot fix the problem.

Unable to reinstall Windows 7 via CD as my CD drive is not being recognized.
