Use a USB for internal storage on the ORIGINAL Xbox?

I am working on a project for a competition. I am trying to combine an Xbox, a Game Cube, and a PS2. I need to shrink things in the Xbox down a bit. Does anyone know of a way that I can replace the Xbox's hard drive with a flash drive? If I can't do that, then can I at least use a 2.5" drive.

Wow, this sounds pretty awesome!
As far as I'm aware, it is possible for Xbox 360 to operate without an HDD. But you need to have a memory unit in order to save game data. But also no original xbox games can be played without an HDD and you will need to dig a little to find which games are compatible without an internal HDD. Morever, I don't think a flash drive will have enough capacity to hold any gameplay.
Do you mean lowering the capacity by shrinking things in the Xbox?

Thank you for the enthusiasm! However, it's the original Xbox, not the 360. I will be sure to upload as many pictures as possible. That includes pictures of the progress as well!
