In my recently purchased Dell P2714H 27" monitor, DP port is given. My CPU/graphic card has HDMI port. I was instructed to get an HDMI to DP converter and HDMI cable in order to see the HD resolution on my monitor.
Somehow, the monitor works only on VGA port. When DP converter+HDMI cable is connected, it blacks out. (I have already tried changing monitor's setting from Auto to DP source but to no avail).
The company is not keen on solving this query. I am finding some cables online which are DP on one end and HDMI on the other. Are they the same as my current arrangement (DP converter with HDMI cable) or they can solve the issue?
