Hi, i've build a new pc with a Gigabyte GV-R726XWF2-2GD rev 3
but i've problem:
when i use chrome and mozilla, thunderbird or play a video with mpc i get some artifact on screen like black and colorized square artifacts and some freeze effect on image when i scroll the page.
I made some test but i didn't get any of them on games and i seem not related with the card usage
For example i test with cpuz and uvallley but i dont get problem.
It seem affect only when the program use overlay.

I do stress test with OCCTPT but i dont get any error or artifact

I've the latest driver amd. Fresh win 7 74 bit installation.
I've tried to remove and readd driver, the version provided with the card and the latest again, but the problem still remain.

That's a CPU Z log when i play with CIV5 with all graphic params to high value

Thanks for your answer.
I didn't get this error when i use Flash... i get them in standard navigation... like when i read this forum or other...
The image above is from a vbullet forum.

The other case that show me this artifacts are when a play a video, but in local, some h264 video or xvid with mpc.

Thanks

I've mede a new test
I've tried Uvalley using OpenGL like firefox and chrome does for rendering...
and the Uvalley test give me the same pixel artifact when it change from light to dark area...

It's like the graphic card put wrong color pixel in image.

I've tested the MPC play error.
the 64bit version do not put pixel artifact
the 32bit version yes...

Explorer 11 give me the same problem

And at now if i do test with uvalley with directx11 after a test with opengl i get a lot of artifacts with direct3d too.
I've recorded a video

https://www.sendspace.com/file/dsij2q

The shop tech service where i buy the card tell me that it can be a driver issue but i've tried 3 different version and installed it cleaning all old driver all time.

Someone can help me?

thanks

Sounds like the video card is bad. One last thing to check would be to do a clean Windows setup and test that. I am betting if you don't install the proper drivers, only use the basic Windows one, you will not have those artifacts. When you install the card drivers, they will come back.

Hi i've made the test that you suggest.
I've installed a clean windows 7 in a new hd, i've installed only chipset driver from msi dvd
Windows see the video card like a standard SVGA so i can't test directx and opengl problem.
So, i've installed the driver that the producer provide with video card that gigabyte support answer me that are tested and 100% compatible...
But i get the same artifact T_T

That is really pointing to a bad card. Almost every bad video card I tested has seemed to work fine in basic tasks or in Safe Mode, but soon as the real drivers load and the card stats working harder, it crashes.

If you can test the card in another system, that will give you a final result as that will rule out any motherboard or power supply issues from your system. If the card does the same thing in another systm, it's a bad card.

You may try to underclock it to run it a bit slower that may keep it stable if you can't afford a replacement card, but that may may not work either. Try a 10% underclock to start and probably even 20% lower speeds would still be OK to get you decent speeds out of the card if you can't replace it.

My dealer send me back the VGA from RMA after some test where the VGA appear without problem.
I send a dvd with screen cap on the RMA.

So i go to my friend that have a AMD system and a Readeon HD7000.

We put my card on his system and the card do the SAME artifact.

Then we put his Readeon HD7000 in my PC and this VGA work without artifacts!

I don't know what i can do...
i can't do RMA to my dealer cose they send me back the VGA... but the card have some problem!

The card is bad, they either did not test is properly or just saying it not to have to exchange it. Take a video of the card in both computers, contact them and tell them the issue happens with two systems and does not happen with another card in yours.

i've already do it T_T
when i send it to the shop in RMA i've added a dvd with some videos of screen cap.
Yesterday night (gmt+1) i've contact the shop again telling the same as i wrote here before (about AMD test)...
but they asnwer me today that they have tested the card in 3 PC and in any of them they get artifact.

It's so bored.

At now i've asked witch os they use, cose i've tested only in win7 64bit sp1.

It's possibile ask a RMA direct to gigabyte?

You can cetainly contact Gigabyte and check, or if the place you returned the card to is close just go there and watch how they test it. They may just stick it in a computer without any drivers and look at it for 2 seconds.

Hi again, there is a update.
I went to the supplier with my pc and i show them the problems.
Then we put the vga on a their zalman old pc and test it via dvi.

His pc do not hit the full hd, but it goes on 720p.

I got the same artifacts in firefox. Then we install chome and uvalley and after a 1h of test i can't reproduce the problem.

So the supplier make me a document where he wrote that the card is full working and there are only driver problems with firefox. I ask this for sell the card without problems.

BTW i put on selling the card and a guy propose to me a swap it with a SAPPHIRE 7870 GHZ dualx 2gbddr5, that have a double ac in addon, so it should need more power that my R7.

We swap the card.
Yesterday he call me saying that the card show a lot of artifacts to him too.
He say me that in game BF and Farcray 4 the card, after some minutes, put a lot of pink and green block on the sky and wather.

BTW i test his 7870 and i didn't get any problem on my pc.

He have a completely different machine: amd a8 3870k su Mobo asrock a75m-hvs

So is so strange.

my uvalley test with 7870 without problems:

First test OPENG GL full HD antial. 8x

35it5oy.jpg

sixth test, directx 11 full hd antial 8x

2mdewbm.jpg

Maybe is possible that the card give artifact only in full HD and the supplier can't show them without strees the vga in full hd?

As I said, it's a bad card. Does not matter when it gives those issues, you should be able to get it maxed out with no issues unless it's being overclocked. The more it gets used the hotter it gets the worse the issues get. At high resolution with settings turned up it generates more heat and uses more chips, exposing the flaw.

The card is bad, if it's in warranty it needs to be exchanged.

yes is in warranty i buyed it at semptember 2014.

The supplier said to the other guy that own the card at now the same thing as me...
They test it, they send it in RMA and the card come back with "working" tag: so they can't do anything and they will not change it.

The only one solution seem to hope that Gagabyte do RMA direct to customers. T_T

Little update
Gigabyte check my SN and say me that card wasn't tracked in their RMA service and they check my national distributor for ask if i can send it direct to them but... surprise... my national distributor do not have sold my card in according with the SN.

T_T

Whoever sold you the card then is responsible. It may have been bought on the grey market, say if not available in your country normally and someone just imported it from somewhere. The card is bad, there is no "firefox driver issues" with it, there is no such thing. It's a bad card and that's it. You should not be responsible to sell it or get it fixed, they are. Tell them if they say the card is fine you will exchange it for another one and they can sell this "working" card themselves.
