id like to put a hard drive in this tower i have set up but the only HDD i have available is 12gb in size. i want to know if i install windows xp on it will it lagg to much. im not looking to have a full functioning pc.. just something with windows steady state for example

anything that i would save would be on external memory so only OS would be on HDD..? id probably have 1-2 gigs ram depending what is reccomended

Good god where did you find a 12GB hard drive? Also XP is unsupported, why don't you download and install Linux onto the machine, Linux Light, Xubuntu, and Linux Mint are a lot better chocies.

Yes. I remember installing XP on many 6GB drives with no issues at all. I believe that the install with SP3 is a little over 1GB.

A 12 gb drive would be pretty old. While XP would run, it will be a bit slow compared to what you are used to.

You do want to have 2 gig in the system if not more to offset the slow drive when it goes to us the swap file.
