I want to buy ASUS R9 280x graphic card. But I am petty confused with the SMPS. It says its need 750w minimum power supply. But I have seen somewhere that it can also run petty good in 620w power supply. So, I am thinking about to buy Seasonic 620W Power Supply Unit. Will it be sufficient for my pc?

Here is my system info..

AMD FX 6300
ASUS M5A78L-M USB3
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600
120GB SSD
160GB HDD @5700 RPM
500 GB HDD @ 5700 RPM
1 TB HDD @ 7500 RPM
1 DVD ROM
ASUS R9 280X 3GB graphic card
Coolarmaster 212X EVO cpu cooler
5 120mm LED Chassis fan

So, Seasonic 620W SMPS can handle all those things?
Thanks in advance. Love & peace. ^.^

You'll be cutting it very close, but you'd probably be able to run that on 620w if you don'tn OC

More than enough...

Your actual max power consumption should not be more than 500W. But a bit extra never hurt anyone.

620w is most definitely enough, I run a 290x on my 750w psu overclocked with no issues

Hey there Richal123,

With this build, you'll be using approximately 510-520W (depends on the exact parts that you've picked). The PSU would provide you with 570-610W at 12V (again depending on the exact model). This would be enough on that build but still be close.
As @Novuake pointed out, it never hurts to have some extra wattage. IMHO one should always get a more powerful PSU than one needs because it can last them through more than one build and reassure they don't run out of power in case they OC any of the parts or decide to upgrade with more powerful parts. I'd go with a 700W one.

Those are some interesting rpm drives. Could you share the exact brand and models? :)

Hope this helps,

I think you should be just fine. If you want to add a second 280X then will you need to increase your PSU, but not before that.
