Hey everybody!

I started looking through the guides to find an answer to my question, but it's a sort of combination problem that I couldn't find all of the little details for:

The PC in question is a Dell Inspiron 530 with a core 2 duo 3.6ghz and 4gb RAM. The biggest bottleneck to gaming performance right now is the video card. I have a MSI NX 8800 GT Series 512mb video card from when I scrapped another PC. I also salvaged a power supply, a Delta Electronics model DPS-470 AB A Rev : 00, output 500w. I hooked up the power supply (though it doesn't physically fit in the case yet) and everything seemed to power up, including the video card, but it wouldn't POST or go into BIOS (no video/no beeps). I noticed that there's a 4 pin spot in the corner of the Inspiron's motherboard (maybe ancillary?) but the 500w power supply only seems to have a 6 pin connector that might plug into that.

1. Is it possible to use this combination of parts in this PC?
2. I saw there are some PS adaptors for cheap online. Would this solve the 6/pin-4/pin issue? Or would I just blow up my computer?

Thanks so much for any help you can provide!
