So my birthday is coming up soon and I told my uncle that I will be building a new rig for gaming and he told me that as his present, he will buy me the parts for it but I will need to get the GPU. He hasn't told me the actual model of the CPU but he said it is a i5 Sandybridge stock clocked at 3.2Ghz. The GPU I'm looking at is the R9 270X Toxic from Sapphire. I was just wondering if it would be okay to pair these up together. I know that is not a lot to go by but I just need a little guidance.

P.S. The CPU will get overclocked.

Yes that will work well for modern games, obviously its not going to be an r9 295 but it will be a good setup, just watch that the PSU is decent.

However, I am a little confused, the only sandy bridge that can be overclocked is the 2500k which is 3.3Ghz.
The only 3.2Ghz one is the 2450P which is somewhat rare although still a fine chip

My uncle did ask me if I'll be overclocking and I said yes so I suppose it must be the 3.3Ghz. And yes, I do have a decent PSU. It's the CX750M from Corsair.
