I was going to try to play The Sims 2 basegame as it doesn't work with my windows 8. However, the graphics were awful. I have inteh hd graphics 2500 on my main computer. Turns out that the virtual machine only recognixes my monitor. Is there a driver I can get orsomething? Thanks.

Hi Sir,I am Bharath from India.I think I can help you Out here.I had the same problem with my VMWare and I did this and everything started to work Perfect

NOTE-Your Display must be connected to the Intel HD 2500 Port must have atleast a single device connected

1) Download Driver Booster Free from iObit and Install them (You can make it PRO by learning in Youtube)

2) At first Open,It will automatically scan for Outdated Drivers

3) After Searching,It will show the Results and All you have to do is tap 'Update',Sit back and Enjoy some Coffee !

4) When you click 'Update',It will calculate the Size of those drivers,Download it all in One (As an Order)

5) Most Important thing - It also creates a System Restore Point before installing...
To start with, the HD 2500 graphics ARE awful. At least in comparison to just about every other graphics adapter of equal or newer age. Secondly, you would need to contact VMware for advice on drivers and applications that are compatible for use in the VMware environment. What are you trying to play games in a VMware environment for?

The Sims2 doesn't work at all in windows 8. I've play the Sims 2+all ep's with the intel hd 2500 graphics on high ust fine. Heck it work great with the demanding Sims 3 fine. And it woud beat the extremely basic vmware svga II graphics. I get flashing redwalls with this graphics and that's just the sims 2 basegame.

I must admit I don't know bro. I don't have much experience with the VMware environment so I really can't advise you on how to proceed. Perhaps somebody with more experience in that environment would step in and offer their opinion. As far as the Sims not working in Windows 8, all indications are that it works fine with Windows 8.1 according to the majority of forum posts I've read so I would say considering the update to 8.1 is free that may be the way to go. You will need to keep in mind that a good many hardware drivers must be updated once the update to 8.1 is complete as many of the driver structures have changed between versions.

5) Most Important thing - It also creates a System Restore Point before installing any Driver.

6) After every driver is installed,It MAY ask you to Re-start or Reboot your PC.Even though it dosn't ask to Restart your PC,I highly recommend you to Restart your PC

What it basically does is find Missing,Damaged and Out-dated drivers in the Internet Automatically and install it without any Hassle and by itself. It actually will mod some Coding inside those Driver Files.

This Brilliant Software can almost find any driver that is Missing or Outdated Drivers. So,You never need to open your Browser to download a Driver and Install them.

After all these,It must work Perfectly Fine. Please let me know the result (If it fixes your problem)

If My solution fixes your Problem,Please don't forget to make mine as your Best Answer.

Thank you
