crysis 1 used windows 8 stuck on install updating component registration

I Just recently bought a used copy of Crysis 1 (it comes with the serial/cd key)
and i started installing entered the serial key off of the back of the manual and it started installing
its been about 15 minutes and it it stuck on updating component registration
i have rebooted googled the question and i have restarted the installation.
i would like an answer soon please

The problem with a " Used copy " of a certain game or software , that's it has been "used" .
So you can't just know if it's a legal copy of a certain game , the key wasn't used or the CD is working probably especially if it's from untrusted source .
I suggest if the problem persist , that your return back the CD and ask for a refund .
And i highly recommend to buy games via stores such as " Steam , origin , ... ETC " .

Thankyou United kings i already use steam and I was just trying to save money spending £5 instead of £9.99
on Steam i just waited another 30 minutes and it installed now running 60fps high settings

I have the same problem with Crysis 2. I have previously installed the came on my old PC but now it will not let it to install on my new computer with windows 8.1. I haven't even typed in a registration key or anything, it just will get stuck!
