Adding more Ram either crashes or slows down incredbly my computer

Hey there, first post here.

Ok guys, here's the deal. I had 4GB RAM (One card of 2GB, OCZ PC2 9200 and a Kingstom RMD2 -800/2G). Now, just today I bought 2 Trascend JM800QLU-2GB DDR2 800 and I thought it was today I was going to have my computer running 8GB of ram. In fact, he recognizes 4GB, 6GB, 8GB, whatever combination I make.

The problem is, if I had more than my previous 4GB, my computer slows down considerely or just crashes randomly (either on boot or on grub menu, etc). I tried all the combinations possible in every of the 4 slots. All the memory cards and slots work, if they're just 2. If I add a third (which would make 6GB RAM) my computer just doesn't work as intended, or can't even boot half the time.

I really don't know what to do. I did the memtest86x test and whenever I add my third or fourth cards I only see red errors right away, lots and lots. Something is really not alright here.

My motherboard is a ASUS P5QLD PRO and it allows 16GB of ram (at least is what it says on the case).

Hope you guys can help me, thanks in advance.

Test 1 module at a time with memtest86, start with those Trascend you bought, very likely they're damaged thus causing the issue.

Another probability is that some of your RAM slots are damaged in your mobo, so that's the next thing to test once you've ensured all modules are good.

They're not damaged, i'm using them right now and it's just as fine as with the other 2 memoery cards. I wrote in my first post, all the memory ram I got works, but only if it's 2 of them. No matter which. If I add a third, it simply will affect my computer in a bad way. And i've tried them in every slot, all of them. The memory slots are fine. But I can try again and see if it remains. Could always forgot a combination.

Yeah, you were right. The problem are 2 of my RAM slots, just re-did the tests and it's them (did with memtest86x). All the memory cards are good and they all work in the other 2. But those 2 slots, whatever cards I put there, I get tons of errors.

Edit: One question though. If I update my BIOS, is there any chance I can resolve this? Because even if those 2 slots give a lot of errors, I can boot the system (sometimes) and the computer always recognizes the physical memory.

Hope someone can help.
