Yes, you can - but to avoid problems, it is best to stick with an AMD / ATI video card (AMD bought out ATI a few years ago).

Are you trying to play a game or just run a desktop program? Games like faster / higher end cards, but most desktop programs couldn't care less.
If you are not playing games, or are fine with low graphics settings on games, the Radeon R7 240 will work (and is very inexpensive at $64 before a $10 mail in rebate):

If you do want to play games at better settings on that system, it is much more difficult as the power supply on that computer would usually need to be replaced to do that (and the motherboard still could have a problem).
