Sound card to get rid of mic noise?

So I record gameplay and use Turtle Beach X12's. Currently, if I plug them into the input/output on the front of my pc case, I get a bunch of background noise. I can easily remove the noise, but it stops me from doing things like Skype or livestreaming because the noise is very noticeable and not pleasurable to listen to. If I plug the input/output directly into the motherboard, it removes the feedback but lowers the voice audio so low that I have to raise it drastically post recording, if I turn up the dB Boost, it creates the same feedback I had before.

Would a sound card help to reduce this issue? Or would upgrading my mic to something that uses USB like a Blue Yeti be a better option?

The issue only exists with the mic itself, the game audio coming to my headset is perfectly fine.
