Dust Filter Help

Hi, I have a couple questions about dust filters.
1. Are they all able to be washed in the sink? If not how do you wash them
2. How often do you have to clean them?
3. You only need dust filters on intake fans right?

1. depends.... if adhesive is used.. maybe not.

On my Antec 902, I need to clean the filters every 2-3 months on a hardwood environment with 1 pet. If you have carpet and more pets it could be every other month or sooner.
