It all started when my internal hdd wasnt detected by my computer. Me, being a stupid, impatient person thought that the wires inside my computer became loose.. So I opened my pc and started cleaning the dirt found inside my pc (too dirty to ignore) before checking out the wires that connected to my internal hdd. I reseated the wires thinking that yeah, the wires might be just loose. However, upon booting up my computer, nothing happens. No beep, no signal for the monitor, and the keyboard didnt light up.

So did i just f up my motherboard? I need serious help plz :((

Btw i cleaned the inside by using a dry cloth!

Solution
Static electricity is always the number one suspect, as it isn't always seen or felt. So, if all else fails, you may need to consider that static electriicty caused your parts to fail.

Now, for some troubleshooting...

1. Breadboard: remove all wiring connected to the motherboard; pull mobo out of case, and set it on cardboard; reinstall GPU, one RAM module, and reconnect PSU. Turn on power by using a metal object to touch both PWR_SW pins.

Did you get a display? If yes, turn off by touching PWR_SW pins again, and then reconnect HDD wiring to mobo. Turn on again. Still OK? if yes, continue to add more peripherals one by one, repeating the power off/on method described above.

If at any time you do not see your montior display turn on...

If at any time you do not see your montior display turn on, move on to step 2.

2. Note: you should still have mobo out of case. Remove the RAM module, and try a different one. Turn on again. If still no display, turn off, try a different module. If you have tried all RAM modules and still no display, move to step 3.

3. Test your PSU's voltage. Click on the link in my sigature for more info on troubleshooting tips and a guide to testing a PSU
