We travel in an RV and find wifi signals can be spotty at best. Is there a device which will pick up the campground wifi and intensify it? Often the laptop gets a stronger signal than either the iPhone or the iPad.

There are solutions out there to boost the signal.

A wifi repeater wont help you much because first off - the off the shelf boxes dont come with powerfull antennas and then when you throw in the fact that a repeater has split its bandwidth in half you end up with a unstable slow connection.

What you need is an antenna, an ubiquit airbullet, and your own router.
For an RV park I would recommend a small grid antenna which wil only requre mild aiming at the internet soure.
So you would have a pole or something to mount antenna to on rv.
Antenna connects directly to airbullet, ethernet cable from airbullet directly to router, then you can use router for wifi in RV.

Since you are going from campground to campgroud each time you will need to aim the antenna at the internet source, and connect laptop direcetly to airbullet and configure it to connect to that RV parks wifi with its id and password.

Oh I almost forgot, you will also need one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-Poe-15-Power-Over-Ethern...

This device goes inbetween the airbullet and the router and will allow it to power the airbullet over the ethernet cable, thus you wont need to have a power source outside the RV. You connect the LAN port to the router and the POE port to the airbullet
