Have HP Envy 700-147c with cx600 psu. Just purchsed radeon 7870 graphics card. Seems long and needs 2 8 pin pci slots? Any way

Solution
If this is your PSU, it has a 46A +12V rail and should be fine.

That Corsair line isn't known for having the best capacitors, but it will handle the HD 7870. It is listed as having 2 PCIe connectors, so that won't be a problem.

If you doubt the room necessary for the gfx card, measure from the expansion slot on the back of the PC and check that against the length of the card. But since you already purchased the card, you'll know soon enough.

Thanks. This card does seem long but I havent spent too much time looking inside of computers! So I wanted another opinion.

Also, are 2 separate cords required to run from the psu to the two 6pins on the card?

If you give me the exact make/model of the HD 7870 you have in mind, maybe I can help you make a better decision on length.

Yes, both 6 pin headers have to be powered before the card will run. Why? Your PSU has 2 x 6 pin connectors if it is the one above.
Btw, the card should only have 2 X 6 pin headers, not 2 x 8 pin headers.
