I am upgrading my A4 5300 processor with my FM2-A75-MA-E35 motherboard, to either an AMD Athlon X4 750k or an AMD FX-6300 and a different motherboard. Can I get a suggestion for which I should choose? I have an AMD 2gb ASUS 7770 HD

If go with the FX-6300, you will have to change your motherboard to one with the AM3+ socket.

For me, is not worth it. I say go with the Athlon 750K or the 760K (is a bit better, recommended).

Agreed, considering price, although the performance of the 6300 is much better on all benchmarks. Since they both use DDR3, this is also an option, although it's an extra investment.

That board is too old, going back to the (adapted) 760G chipset does not have a good value.

Add to the fact it is a mico atx board with poor vrm's. The board will get vdroop and throttle the cpu.

Jesus, people around here have lost their minds. I realize it's an older chipset. I also realize that there are MUCH better and NEWER components. I also understand however that sometimes you have to make sacrifices when you need to go cheap. Here, is this better? I was trying to keep the cost close enough to just the FM2 cpu to justify the option but apparently we have to all have the best.

But the thing is: EucleX doesn't need to change platform, the 750K is perfectly capable of running the HD 7770 without bottlenecking it.

The 760K is even capable to run the R7 265 or the nVidia equivalent with no bottlenecks.

Cool. Then that's the option he should choose, if he chooses to do that. I couldn't agree with you more.
