Yes, is much better 970 SLI than HD 7990, but you must make sure your motherboard is compatible with nVidia SLI.

Definitely go for the 970 SLI. The HD 7990 doesn't even compete with the r9 295X2, and the 970 SLI goes neck and neck with the r9 295X2. Just inside when the 970 gets a driver update for better optimization, it'll eventually perform better. Also, the 970 sli is only about $660 when the r9 295X2 ís $1000.

That's also an option, but considering the price to performance ratio, i think the 970 SLI is still the best.
