Yes as long as the board is using BIOS version 1103 or later which was released at the beginning of this year. If you are buying new you should be fine otherwise if you are running a current system with the Z87-K just make sure to update the BIOS before putting the new CPU in.

All you have to do is google the model of your asus motherboard, the first or second link will be ASUS's webpage, and on that site it has the supported cpu list, and it will tell you what bios vesion you need to have (or newer) to support that cpu.
In this case it is compatibile but just because they have the same socket does not mean that the motherboard supports it. There are plenty of older H series mobos that dont support the newest generation CPUs despite being a socket 1150.
