3gb stata port vs 6gb sata port

I bought a 3gb sata port motherboard on accident with a 6gb sata hard drive how much of a performance will i loose

If it's a HDD, and not an SSD, you shouldn't lose much if any, no HDD's can saturate a SATA II connection. Current SSD's can though. You may lose a touch of speed on it just being an older controller, but not an amount you could ever notice.
