For my new build I am using the following
i5 4590k with a CM Hyper 212 Evo
ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer
MSI Twin Frozr V GTX 980 (hells to the mother fucking yeah)
1TB WD Blue
120GB Samsung EVO SSD
750W EVGA Supernova B2 PSU
Corsair Air 540 case.

The question is that I have 8gb of crucial ram in my sytem atm, would it be fine to pop that out and use it in my new build?

(Also, thoughts on the build? 980 overkill for 1080p? Spend my money elesewhere?

Solution
YEs, if the RAM is DDR3 it will be fine to use again.

I believe you mean 4690k right? The 4590k is not a CPU.

Everything else looks good. I do not like the case, but that is just me.
It is VERY open. hence the name "AIR" in the name. In cases with alot of openings, air escapes everywhere so you need stronger faster stronger fans to keep the airflow moving properly.

Another case to look at is the NZXT Phantom 410. If that is not your style, the Fractal Design R4 will be MUCH quieter and is a VERY good case.

Positive pressure really only affects dust (a bit). No need to strive for it really.

You can only put two 140s in the front or three 120s. Just use two 140s. Then a rear 120 and a top whatever size you want. This is alot of fans as it and will not be a quiet build. three 120s will be be much nosier.

Alright I will buy two sp140's then use one of the front fans that I wouldn't need as a top exhaust so two 140 intake and two 140 exhaust. Should I mount the top fan behind closest to the rear exhaust or closer to the front. (In front of or behind the cpu if you get me)

The AF fans aren't better, just more expensive. I have used them before, they are just noisy and I do not like them. They sell because they are interesting looking. I had three and one died within 3 weeks due to bearing issues and the second one shot its bearing grease out and starting clicking 4 months out. I ALWAYS recommend normal old coolermaster fans. They are dead reliable.
