I have this rig

Cpu - cor i5 3570

Gpu - Gtx 660 2gb

Mobo - Intel DH6CL

Ram - 8gb ddr3

Psu - Thermaltake Smart se530w

OS - Windows 8 x64

I was having really great gaming graphics and fps in all games on high settings in 1080p res and then all of a sudden the performance of games became very poor with crappy graphics and fps drops in almost all games.I twice installed new windows in the fear that maybe some virus is the cause for this dilema but the situation is the same.

Almost all the components are not more than a year old and i try to keep my rig dust proof.

Could the veterans of Tomshardware please guide me whats the cause for this situation?

I'm not a fan of the Thermaltake SMART series, I had a SMART 550w and it completely wrecked my computer until I switched it out

make user video driver for nvidia is up-to-date. make sure monitor and video card is correctly shown in windows. make sure resolution in windows is correct for the monitor. And last, check the game resolution and video card settings.

Thank you guys for your response.

This is my fourth gaming pc, i'm not new to this stuff.

All the drivers are up to date and the res is also native of my led.

Each and everything was working 100% fine with the greatest gaming experience, then all of sudden one of my 4gb ram sticks died and my woes started from there, pc is not the same anymore even tho i replaced the ram stick and i have 8gb again.(The temprareture of the city was very hot at that month.)

I have read that this thermaltake psu is not a decent psu for a gaming pc, and i think this might have degraded in the extreme heat of previous month, even tho its only 10 months old. What do you say Entomber?
