Hello guys. I have a MSI 970 GAMING motherboard, with a model number of 7693. I am currently using BIOS revision 22.0, which the MSI site says is the latest version. I'm having some issues with black screens, and I need to know if there are other BIOS versions available for it. According to this site:

http://www.msi-bios.com/msi-bios-number-MS-7693.html

there are 3 different 'G' revisions: The G 43, 45, and 46. Which BIOS should I use? How do I find my G revision?

Also is this site safe? 'msi-bios.com' sounds a little fishy.

Sounds very fishy. There is the actual MSI 970 Gaming they also however have a 970A G43 model, a 970A G45 etc - which are different mobo models

Rev 22 is the latest for the 970 Gaming

Black screens are possibly from DRAM set up wrong, OCed badly, could be a weak or dying PSU....What CPU? OC? what DRAM? what GPU and PSU

Here is the thread I made about the black screen. I guess it got lost in the threadlist...

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2277997/screen-randomly-black-system-operational.html

Here is a link to the build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ajthemacboy/saved/VBpzK8

I used to have a 750 Ti as the graphics card, but I rmad it for an r9 270 because of the black screen. No help. I began to think that the problem might be insufficient power, but with such a low power 750 ti card, I doubt that was it.

Here is a link to the thread I started on Eightforums, as I began to think it was a software issue: http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/53931-random-black-screen-crash-i-have-minidump.html

There is a minidump there if you can decode that, I sure can't...

Thanks for any help you might have!

I actually returned the first motherboard I had because the 24 pin connector wouldn't seat. It was a CS430M I believe. I would like to avoid returning the motherboard, especially if we can't be certain that's the issue. Any other ideas?

Well, it just happened again, in the middle of watching the kickstarter video on this page: http://www.geek.com/games/neal-stephensons-526000-kickstarter-sword-fighting-game-officially-canceled-1604892/

The only intensive application I had open was chrome, with a few other tabs.. there was no minidump.
