Is it a bad time to be upgrading to DDR4 Ram, given that there arent a lot of options right now

I see that there are mostly high prices on the new Modules and kits and not a lot of 2x8GB kits available(at least in the UK).

I'm not in a hurry but I did want to upgrade my CPU+MOBO+RAM by the end of the year, believe it or not I'm still rocking a 775 rig:D .......

I am getting the ASUS X99 Deluxe and a 5820K
What do you guys think?

Perhaps you should await the holiday sales and see if the prices are more reasonable. Awesome, I possess a 775 rig. Nice combination choice, they will serve you well.

If you have the patience, Broadwell is coming the beginning of next year, it could be another option.

Yep I'd wait, prices are high and the DRAM is all to JEDEC spec, expect prices to drop and the DRAM to get tighter timings and performance

Thanks guys I appreciate the advice, I'll definetly wait a while.... I'm not really considering Broadwell and I might hold out on the Motherboard too, just in case Asus goes through with the White TUF board they previewed since my case is a Storm Stryker

With the current DDR4 kits, its definetly the price thats the biggest obstacle since what I want will cost way more than my other components(almost as much as a GPU), which is ridiculous, and I wont skimp out on RAM by buying a cheaper alternative in place of waiting a few months

Thanks guys :D
