My new became unstable after installing more drivers. I decided to just re-install win-7 but during the install process, win-7 kept some older files and created I think a virtual hard drive of some sort. Just wondering if I can delete or format that drive so that it frees up my disc space as I use win-7 on my boot SSD which only has 120GB.

I have two SSD's
120GB
256GB

So, what windows did is sort of confusing me. The "L system reserved drive" is the one that it created to keep the old install

No, it does not 'force you' to keep old files.

Disconnect all other drives except the one you want Windows on
Boot from the install DVD
When it asks 'where', select Advanced.
You will then see all the existing partitions.
Select each, Delete.
You will then be left with one large unallocated space.
Let Windows use that whole space to install to.
