Been popping up here a lot asking... rather dumb questions, but anyways, im having a few issues crossfireing my rig, it sees both gpus, but it wont let me connect

first gpu

second gpu

what ccc says

crossfire bands

reasoning why there are 2 bands ccc said both bands, so I dont know if that meant 2, or just both ends (i read everywhere you only needed 1, but one band gave me the same issue, I jsut dindt bother to remove it yet)
reasoning why im using 13.12 drivers.... the new ones suck and 13 runs games better especailly when it comes to recording, that and the new oens like to bsod my system (i know how to make it stop, but its impossible to record, so I refuse to update the drivers)

any ideas... or is updating my drivers really the only way..... which would suck

im using a r9 280x not a 290
besides, a 290 doesnt even have a slot for a crossfire bridge

My apologies, I would un-install driver, use driver fusion also, re-install driver. You should only have to use 1 xfire bridge, I've had a few x-fire set ups and it's always 1 bridge.Maybe check your bios settings see If there is an option too set like always use pcie as the primary display.Good luck.

its fine, anyways, I took out the bridge so it only has one again
and I uninstalled the drivers (many many times) and installed 13.12 drivers, the recommended 14 drivers and the beta drivers (separately of course) all giving mixed results
13.12 sometimes needs to be re installed to get ccc to even open, the recommended 14 drivers either wotn open ccc or crashes saying it cant read mom.exe (or something like that, it gave 2 errors, i'll take screenshots next time) and 14 beta just crashes my machine unless I extract a sy_ file

all 3 drivers have the same result, none let me crossfire
I know both the cards work (tested them separately) my pc picks up both cards, and my 3 monitors are using both cards (1 hdmi and dvi in one card, and a display in the other)
so honestly, I have no idea whats wrong to be honest

as for checking the bios settings, what exactly do you mean by that?

Don't you need to have all displays running from one card though, . I mean the pc bios settings upon booting up before windows loads.

i mean, I could, but it gives the same results.... I'll put the display port back in the other card and then try again

ya..... there is no way im going to do a fresh install of windows, im not losing my data, if it was on an SSD i wouldnt care, but its not sooo im not reinstalling it and would just take the gpu out
i'll try the other solution though
