I have connected my ethernet cable to my computer and it says i got connection but the internet doesnt work.

I have connected my ethernet cable to my computer and it says i got connection but the internet doesnt work. The funny thing is that my skype works.....

most likely just got a connection to your router and the router did not have a connection to the internet.
You might, turn off your computer, turn off your router, turn off your cable modem. disconnect your cable modem from the Cable, wait 30 seconds, reconnect the cable, turn on the cable modem, wait 1 minute, turn on the router, wait 30 seconds, turn on the computer with the cable connected to the router..

all goes well you should get a connection.

otherwise you have to start cmd.exe as a admin
and type the command
ipconfig.exe /release
ipconfig.exe /renew

and see if your browser now can connect to the internet.
