What's the best CPU Mobo combo I can get bt 350-450? Thanks for the help.

Current setup: MSI P67A-C43 (B3) with i5 2500k. Have had both since 2011 and looking to upgrade.

Other components:
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 4gb Windforce
PSU: Antec EarthWatts 650W
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB
SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 250GB
RAM: 4x2 G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series SDRAM DDR3 1600
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo
Case: NZXT S340

This would be a very nice build for the money. Even capable of a little overclocking.

I've got my i5 at a stable 4.6ghz. Would an upgrade really be worth it for me? I was just curious to see if an upgrade was due considering I've had that hardware for so long. I'm not so up to date on the current CPU's.

Honestly no, an upgrade is not worth it. Your 2500k at 4.6ghz should perform great in all games. Save your money and wait until the next generation of cpu's.

Great. As fun as it is to upgrade every now and then I'm happy to pocket the cash and save it for a rainy day. Thanks the advice, greatly appreciated.

Gamer is right. The 2500K is still quite a powerful CPU. If anything I would overclock it. I have heard that CPU overclocks very well also. I know it is a bit old, but it is still quite powerful.

Do you have an SSD? I would get one of those and maybe a CPU cooler if anything. I personally love overclocking. It's like a hobby to me. I'm still quite new to it, but I'm learning. I don't know if you have ever tried it before, but it is actually quite fun to see what the CPU is capable of.

I just recently got a Hyper 212 Evo and added a push/pull setup. Currently overclocked to 4.6ghz. I see 62c to 65c under full load and in endless hours of games. I love it.

I actually just got a Samsung 840 Evo 250gb yesterday - the boot time is ludicrous compared to what I've been used to. Not to mention my most played steam games load crazy fast as well.
