Want to upgrade GTX 560 Ti cards

Hello,

I currently have two GTX 560 Ti cards in SLI configuration, and I'm fairly unhappy with them. For whatever reason, if I attempt to upgrade the drivers, everything goes to hell in a hand basket - the cards only seem to operate (without weird crashes) if I stick with the drivers that shipped with it (Nvidia 314.22). That stinks, since I miss out on all the groovy driver advancements.

What's more is that I find the SLI features clunky to operate, especially with my preferred three-monitor configuration. And of course these aren't exactly cutting-edge, so performance isn't particularly great.

What I'd like to do is replace my two cards with one that offers better performance, and will support all three of my 27" Samsung monitors (which are HDMI only).

So I'm looking for recommendations. Can I drive all three HDMI monitors with a single card, and does it involve jumping through any hoops?

I was looking to spend around $400 USD, but am open to suggestions in other price ranges as well.

Thanks for any help!

- Mark R.

Son No 2 has twin 560 Ti's overclocked 27% running on a 120 hz monitor and it plays everything and anything he throws at it. Using dual link DVI of course for optimum results. Nover had an "SLI issue" except for the 1st cupla weeks of BF4, .... But three monitors on a single card is quite a challenge. Best card for you would be the new GTX 970 ... but the biggies, like Metro, Crysis etc are goinna push you below 30 fps.

Toasts any other single card on the market anywhere near its $330 price tag (talking about the reference model .... not that there's anything unappealing about the Strix.

I think I'd be happier with mine if I could update the device drivers. But they won't upgrade without causing random crashes (and trust me, I've tried everything).

With regard to the GTX 970, I read that it has 3 DisplayPort connectors - could I drive my three HDMI monitors with it if I purchased the appropriate adapters?

I should probably also mention that I'm not looking to play games on all three monitors at once (I just need all three of them for work). When gaming, I'm only interesting in using a single monitor. But I still need a card that will support all three monitors when working.

I have no experience with adapters and very little with HDMI (cable box =>TV)....all our boxes here use Dual Link DVI.
