Hello, one of my friends I've been helping out has been having some issues with his computer.
After pressing the power button his fans will run, the computer light will turn on, hard drive will start up, etc. but the computer automatically shuts down after about 5 to 15 seconds.
Nothing comes up on the monitor, the monitor continually searches for a signal to no success.
His specs:
Windows 7 64 bit
6GB RAM (3 sticks of 2GB)
Intel i7 processor
Roughly 1 year old 850 power supply made by ASUS (may not be the correct brand)
GTX 660
So far we have tried removing the video card and removing all sticks of RAM and trying out one individual stick at a time, going through all 3 sticks . Problem still persisted.
He said his hard drive has been making some out of the ordinary clicking noises, however he cannot gain access to his BIOS which I've been told would still be accessible even if it were a hard drive issue, so I've been told it may not be hard drive related.
Might anyone have any fixes to try or may be able to diagnose the problem? Thank you in advance for your time and help!
