Hi guys. This is an urgent question!!! I am thinking about upgrading to sli for my gtx 780 ti sc with acx cooling, and ive discovered some news articles which lead me to believe that the 780 ti is being replaced by the 980! Could someone please give me details to what is going on and tell me when this is happening?

Thanks!!!!!

Solution
780 ti is basically obsolete from a new purchase standpoint but is still a very formiddable card and since you already own one if whatever you are doing really needs a gpu upgrade (I doubt it) I would get another when you need to. It definitely is not worth replacing with one of the newer cards. If you can wait there are usually the best deals of the year around the holidays

Well.. the 780ti is about the same as the 350 dollar EVGA GTX 970 SuperSuperclocked 2.0. I have this card. I get the same FPS as the 780ti or sometimes a bit more then my wife's 780ti with BF4 and Crysis 3 anyways and it is significantly cheaper. So you could just sell your 780ti and SLI two 970 SSC's. They would use quite a bit less power then two 780tis. Probably around 175 dollars a year saved

Well said Jameson Clark. Eventhough 980 and 970 are new it doesn`t mean you will buy them. One factor that I`m impressed the most is the power consumption which were significantly reduced.

To OP, if you are concerned with your power consumption then those new cards are good, and adding to the comment of my good guy clark upgrade if you need it (which I also doubt).
