Preparing for my first gaming build and im still in the research stage, so I have a few questions. While not in stone, I settled so far on intel I5 4460 processor and a amd radeon 270 or 280. I was looking for some advice on motherboard and a good tower in the 35-60 range. Not looking to do any overclocking and primarily want to do some 1080 around 60fps gaming. Thanks for any help

if you have local micro center try picking up a 4590. the newer dc haswell have newer cooling paste under the lids. for the money on the gpu get the fastest gpu you can some of the 280 now are on sale for the same price as a 270x. also the newer 960 when it drops see how it lines up with amd cards. newer nvidia gpu sip power. the best case I found for new builds is the cosair r300 when there onsale with rebate they can be 40.00. built two rigs with them and there a nice well built case with low noise fans. on your build pick up an after market cpu cooler. intel and cheap coolers use plastic pins that dont hold the cpu cooler to the cpu well. the better coolers use a back plate and screws. on motherboards if your going to run just one gpu and never overclock then look at h97 mb. sli or crossfire you need a z97 mb. myself I like the asus efi bios layout and mb. some of the asus mb have usb flashback that can save mb if the bios is damaged..boot from a usb stick and recover it.
