My laptop's battery won't charge past it's current percentage. Two days ago I noticed that it won't charge past 97% and after restarting it did reach to 100% but next day again I noticed it won't go past 71% then 64% and today it won"t go past 50% I checked the health of the battery and it is working normal. This is my new battery purchased few months ago I think that battery is fine but still I have my doubts. When I plug in the charger it works for few seconds and then shows not charging but it does charge when the battery is low and then stops at specific percentage. What can I do before taking this to the shop? What could be the problem here?

I had a similar issue with a dell mini9 where a bios update fixed the issue.

No. Laptop was sent by my dad from middle east and he lost the warranty paper that is why I am looking for solutions that I could try at home before replacing the battery. It shows that battery is normal but is the problem is with the battery actually? I thought charger pin was loose.

Well, like hairystuff said, you could see if there's a BIOS update available... What make is the laptop? It would be worth checking the support pages if it's a major brand...

Other than that, do a test and see how long that battery actually lasts... is it really an issue?
