Hey sorry if this in the wrong catagory I really didn't know where to post this question. Anyways I am looking at making a gaming room with 4k 3d TV, Gaming PC, Laptop (Aorus X7) Tablet, Xbox one, Home Theater system etc... I will not have enough for it until 12 months from now since Im already doing some other improvements to my house so I was wondering How much will hardware change in that amount of time. Will there be a major difference in products and prices for the items im looking at etc and will there also be a big difference/ lots of new pc parts for my actual desktop if someone could answer this question it would be great

With the drastic change to DisplayPort (ver 1.4 I believe), 6K now in stores, Windows 9 about to be released, DDR4 is now being sold, etc. all within just the next 90 days, yeah in a year your talking TOTAL changes that will (sorry viewtyjoe) many things INCOMPATIBLE with others. For example, if you got a nice Mobo just a couple months / few weeks ago, it be DDR3, but now 8 months later you grab some DDR4, can't use it with that Mobo, just for example.

IMHO if your going to go full bore on your 'goal' then I would wait and buy thing together, the market this year is drastically change with both hardware (never mind the new USB 4? standard which is approved for manufacturing) and software sides.

Major things to expect in the next twelve months: Nvidia will continue to release 900 series desktop GPUs, AMD may be releasing a new line of GPUs, who knows. Skylake will be dropping right about a year from now, give or take a few months. Unless you're planning on doing heavy 4k gaming with everything turned up all the way, stuff available now will work just as well as the stuff coming out.
