Hi guys, I just have a question. I have an i7 960 @3.20ghz (oc'd to 3.6ghz) and im thinking if it will bottleneck a 660 ti sli? I'm thinking about buying another 660 ti and how much power do i need? Here is my PC's specs.

i7 960 (3.6 GHz)
Asetek 550LC Liquid Cooling
EVGA X58 SLi3 Motherboard
GTX 660 Ti Superclocked+ 3gb (Buying another one for SLI)
12gb of RAM (ADATA, i dont know how many Mhz)
800 watts XtremeGear Gaming (I think i should buy a better PSU)

Thanks in advance!

Solution
That is a great option and you will not experience a bottleneck. Uprgrading that psu is ot a bad idea as it is a few years older and not high quality.

Yeah man it is a i7! and a 960. It is no slouch!. It is actually as good as the ivy and haswell i5's, I actually searched for a lynnfield version of the i7 to replace my i5 750, But everyone wanted a arm and a leg for a old CPU, So I instead bought a i5 3470. But I would have been more than happy with the lynnfield i7. I wanted to keep my old MSI P55-GD65 board since I was so used to it. But sometimes we have to let go. I would have went hasswell, But Ivy's specs are about the same and I got a great deal on the CPU and motherboard, And the Ivy nonK chips overclock to faster speeds than the Hasswell nonK. So I went with the generation old cpu lol. But the chip you have can still more than run with anything out today. No AMD CPU out today can touch the performance of the i7 960. So feel good!

Did you feel your 750 showing it's age? Was it overclocked if so how much? (sorry to thread jack) PM me
