Looking to move from old AMD Phenom II X4 in ASUS M4A89GTD Pro motherboard to a system based around an i5 4690K. I have one ASUS 760 gtx and was thinking about getting another for SLI in future which should be more than enough for my gaming needs, benchmarks for ASUS 760 gtx in SLI look impressive!

I have considered putting a 8350 in the board which will run with bios update; but M4A89GTD Pro does not support SLI only crossfire, also not sure about the VRM on this board doubt it will overclock 8350, So 8350 + new FX board or could get 2 x R9 270x's, Think Haswell is the way to go ....

Motherboard options so far are:

ASRock Z97 Extreme6 - M.2 (10gbs) & M.2 ultra (32gbs) look future proof, but if using M.2 ultra SLI will not work (£129) . SLI + M.2 ultra not a problem With Extreme 9 but £190 !

Asus Maximus VII Ranger - seems a good all round board (M.2 10 Gb/s data-transfer) (£130)

Asus Z97-A Intel Z97 - seems to have good spec & good for the price (£107) - would it overclock a 4690K ?

Are the M.2 options worth the trouble at the moment ? In real life would the extra bandwidth be noticeable over say a Samsung Pro850 SDD ?

Thanks in anticipation of getting this little conundrum solved
