all lcd's have a backlight . Some have a kind of flourescent tube called CCFL , others use LED
LED uses less power , but its harder to get accurate colors . Nothing to be worried about unless you are a graphics professional
buy an LED LCD IMO
Panels types ate TN , IPS and a bunch of others . They all have strengths and weaknesses .
generally for single monitor gaming a TN panel is fine and more responsive , but viewing angles are narrower so you have to be right in front [ like you are with a pc ]
