Current I have:
Fx 8320
Gigabyte 990FX UD5 R3.0
Crosair 750W
and Asus R9 270x 2gb.
Dual monitor Setup.
I am looking to crossfire with my current gpu (since single 280x don't worth it, and 290 & 290x is damn expensive).

So my question is do i have to buy a GPU of same company (i.e Asus) or i can go buy any gnu which is r9 270x 2gb?

I want to be honest. If i sell my gpu on ebay i will get $110, and If i buy another r9 270x it will cost me $120, (used). Total funds= 230. Although I can get used r9 270x from different companies for less than $120.. such as XFX or Gigabyte.
I can spend $250 for used r9 290 but it has only one fan (i.e old version) I want those dual fan on gnu which are like above $350 or $300 at least. But (thats my preference, but does it make any difference if you get an old one as compare to new ones which have dual fans). I am confused what should i do. I am on budget. Please give me awesome advise. Please. If its feasible can also post the link for gpu. I am new to these computer tech. So kindly help me. :)

Solution
With Gigabyte cards, the multi-GPU technology is called "SLI", not Crossfire. To use SLI, both GPUs must be Geforce/NVIDIA models.

"CrossfireX" is AMD's equivalent multi-GPU technology. To use Crossfire, both GPUs must be AMD models.

The Gigabyte 990FX UD5 R3.0 motherboard supports both technologies.
